It is my belief that Richard Heynes of Shropshire (see John Wesley's Haines ' book, "Richard Haines and his descendants, a Quaker Family" page 319). relocated to Oxfordshire and became Richard Heynes of Reading. His new home was less than 40 miles from Northampton. That is were he met and wed Thomasine Foxley who was also descended from a gentry family with its own COA. I believe that this relocation and his marriage to Thomasine caused Richard to redesign his COA. When he did so he incorporated the Foxley COA using as a back drop the Red Foxley Shield, and removing the greyhound symbol . In order to reflect and maintain his Walsh heritage Richard rearranged the 3 bezants (symbols of a Crusader) into a triangle pattern and made them Fountain (wavey lines meant to symbolize water) This is the exact same pattern found on the Powys COA. This is important because Richard Heynes of Shropshire was a direct descendant of the Royal House of Powys (Wales). But once the bezants where changed to Fountain they no longer into reflected Richard's crusader heritage, so he made them into crescents which are also a symbol used to denote crusader descent. This would explain why this new COA is not seen to my knowledge prior to Richard and his sons.(Nicholas & William)

Please let me know what you think.
