Was founded in 1807 from Baldwin, Bibb and Putnam Counties
My Rev. Sol. John Lamar came from Greene Co to Jones with his wife Frances Breedlove.
Wilkins Jackson & his wife Sarah Lamar married here in 1801- (Record is found listed)
Wilkins was the son of Mark who died in Va and Martha Warren who migrated to land previously purchased in Hancock Co Ga. Estate was settled in Brunswick Co Va and Hancock. All sons are listed in the old records in the basement! (9 of them, and I had to go there to find mine!)
Thomas Raines born 1763 Albermarle Co Va and Sarah Abercrombie born 1775 Orange migrated to Jones through Montgomery from Hancock-He died there in Wolf Creek- 1816. Rev. Sol. Gerry Hill Albany Ga.
