I've been looking at this person too long and am in need of a fresh pair of eyes.

What I know:

Jacques De La Bourliere dit LaPlante  AKA Jacques De La Bourliere AKA Jacques LaPlante

Born: 27 Dec 1650, Niort, France

Died: 16 Jan 1730, Montreal, Canada

Married: about 1672, Francoise Ferrand

I'm looking for Jacques' parents.  I've been looking and all I found is a bunch of ancestral trees with no sources claiming one of two sets of parents:

     Francois Miville and Marie Langlois

or

Jacques De Dompierre and Catherine Myusson

Neither makes sense to me.  My family name has been Madore, De La Bourliere or LaPlante with variations using DIT.  Never once have I seen a Miville or a Dompierre in any combination.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

His parents are unknown, see http://www.francogene.com/genealogie-quebec-genealogy/008/008985.php . Denis' site is very good.  Any ancestor before 1730 see Rene Jette's work or Denis' website.

His parents are unknown.  It is better to leave it blank that to fill in your tree with "known" that are incorrect.

Thank you both for the information.
