First found in the Austrian province of Carinthia, where the name Hasslinger emerged in mediaeval times as one of the notable noble families of the region. From the 13th century the surname was identified with the great social and economic evolution which made this territory a landmark contributor to the development of the nation.
Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Philip Hasslinger, who came to Philadelphia in 1754; as did George and Daniel Hasslinger in 1856 and 1858; Joseph Hasslinger arrived in Canada in 1783.
