Mary Estes
My 2 gr grandmother was Mary Estes married to William Elmore. She was born 1801 in Tennessee and died after 1870 in Jackson Co IL. She was a daughter of Moses Estes who died in Wilson co TN about 1815. Her first marriage was to a Mr. Nea. She and William Elmore were married 4 Dec 1820 in Gallatin Co IL. The lived for awhile in TN and then moved to Jackson Co IL by 1834. Their youngest daughter Lutitia Jane was my great grandmother. She married Allen G Williams in Jackson co in 1857.

Your Moses in Wilson County was the son of John Estes and his wife Elizabeth Chism. John's father was Moses Estes Sr. and his wife was Elizabeth, possibly Webb. Moses Sr. died in Halifax Co. Va in about 1788.
