Hi. My 3rd great-grandmother is Mary Doyle. She was born in Co Wicklow abt. 1831. Her parents are Michael Doyle & Bridget Kerwin/Kirwan/Carvin. I can place Mary in Toronto, Ontario at her wedding to Thomas Ennis in 1850. I have reason to believe she may be from Hacketstown. In John Grenham's book "Tracing Your Irish Ancestors" under Wicklow Roman Catholic Registers, for Hacketstown it says "see Carlow". Does anyone know why this is? I spoke with someone from Wicklow and she said that to her knowledge, Hacketstown has always been in Carlow.

Hi. Patrick Doyle was my 2nd great-grandfather. He was born about 1835 in Bagenalstown, County Carlow, Ireland. He emigrated to the United States sometime before 1860. The first place I find him is in Rochester, New York, where he resided until his death in 1894. His parents were Michael and Mary Doyle, presumedly also from Bagenalstown. He married Anna Breen of County Wicklow, Ireland, date and place unknown. He was a stonemason. I have no information about siblings. Does this information help anyone? Any ties at all, even tenuous?
