Celia Dover, b. abt 1798, d. bef 1860 ; m. 23 Dec 1819, Habersham, Co GA to Jessie CROSS.
Celia's father was Francis Johnson Dover, a Revolutionary War soldier, b. 28 June 1760, Haw River, near Guilford, Orange CO NC.; d. 13 Dec 1851, probably Habersham CO, GA. He married 1) Mary Ann " Polly" Posey, 1786 in York District SC, b. abt 1768, probably SC, d. between 1817/1820. She is the mother of Celia Dover Cross, 2) Mary Mullinax.
Several of the Dover siblings married Cross siblings.
I am descended from William Stephen Cross, s/o of Jesse & Celia Dover CROSS.

Sherry, I am a descendant of Francis Johnson Dover thru his son Anderson Dover,his son Larkin Calloway Dover,his son Robert Lewis Dover,his son Walter Lee Dover.My father is Virgil,fourth child of Walter. I have some info about that if I can find the right book. I have beendoing research off and on for 10 years. My husband Harold Tolbert passed away Sept 2007 and I care for my mother full time and it is hard to find time to do all that it takes to do research and I find it interesting. John Dover from England came over to U.S in late 1600's and is father of Francis J.Dover. Look on the Miller Gillespie ancestry.com site and they have a copy of Francis Johnson Dover signature on a will. I have more info on Dovers than I do Cross.
