Carol, do you have any type of document that would prove Jane Dobkins Campbell was the daughter of Jacob Dobkins? I am looking for anything that would link them for my DAR supplement application. Thanks!

Robyn, your other comment, seems to be a copy of a query I posted ages ago on, probably the Johnson/Johnston family site. Sadly, I received no information for that query. Evan Dobkins, Sr., as well as his wife, Margaret, seem to have evaporated into thin air.

Robyn: How are you related to, or interested in Jacob Dobkins? This children you have listed here mostly belong to Jacob Dobkins, Sr.; however, Jacob Sr.'s brother, Evan was the one who married Dorcas Johnston/Johnson's sister, Margaret.

Am looking for information on the Peter Johnson/Johnston family of Pennsylvania. One of his daughters, Dorcas, married Jacob Dobkins; another supposedly "married a Dobbins"; and I believe she married Evan Dobkins. Supposedly, it was either Rachel or Rebecca that "married a Dobbins"; does anyone know if Rachel or Rebecca's middle or first name was Margaret?

I'm looking for a document that would prove Jacob Dobkins and Dorcas Johnson/Johnston had a daughter named Jane/Jenny. If anyone has such a document, I would be interested in a copy of the document. If this is in a book, I need a copy of the book cover and the page itself. This is for a DAR supplement applicaton on Jacob Dobkins. Thanks!

Evan DOBKINS (sometimes DOBBINS) appears in the 1782-83 Personal Property Tax Lists in Rockingham Co. Evan is believed to be a son of Capt. John DOBKINS, whose father was John A. DOBIKIN. Evan is next listed in a 1784 PP Tax List in Shenandoah Co. with John and two brothers, Jacob and Reuben. Evan and his two brothers served under Capt. Jacob HOLEMAN in the Dunmore Co. Militia in 1775. He married Margaret JOHNSON in Shenandoah Co. in 1775 and moved to Eastern TN about 1785.

Well, little sister, here I am. I hope to eventually find burial sites for Gemima Lewis Compton and William Edward Compton, as well as our elusive woodsman Evan Dobkins.

I have started an album of Dobkins family photos. At least, if no one has any information to add, they can see what we all looked like way back when.
