My grandmother was Harriet Maria Creswick, born in Cheshire in 1882. She was a descendant of the Bristol Creswicke's, the branch of the family started by Francis Creswicke when he left Sheffield to apprentice as a hardwareman in Bristol in 1598.
Francis was the son of Roger Creswicke of Wadsley, and I would dearly love to know who Roger's parents were.

My husband's Creswick line came from Sheffield, England by way of Birmingham. His grandfather, Godfrey Creswick, immigrated to Canada and then down to Rhode Island where he was a jeweler.
