I bit the bullet and ordered a Y-DNA test from Ancestry.com - they're running a sale so why not, right? It seems I'll have to wait a few weeks for the results... but I'm praying for some leads on who my g-g-g-grandparents are.
In the meantime, although I am not an expert, I might be able to answer questions you have about starting the process, or at least lead you to experts who can answer your questions. -
