The main area of research includes the early Cecil and Cissell families in Maryland in the 1600s and the various Cecil, Gascoyne-Cecil, and Cissell family branches currently in England.
Emphasis is also on DNA testing to help resolve bick walls and to determine how the various family branches are connected. For example this testing has shown a connection between the John Cecill who died in St. Mary's County Maryland in 1698 and the English Exeter line (and thus a connection with William Cecil, Lord Burghley).
