My aunt's parents came in the early 20th century and we have been able to find them in manifests, but my Icelandic great-grandparents in 1886 and my Scottish ggg-parents in 1835 are lost in the fog.

I have a question regarding information shown on a passenger list.
My grandfather returned to Halifax in March of 1918 on the ship Canada. The passenger manifest lists are headed "Nominal Roll of Men to be Discharged in Canada".
Information on the manifest is as follows:
Reserve Unit: 3CCD
Military District: CE
Classification: B3
Reason for Discharge: Dis. Of A.G.
His rank was Spr (Sapper). But I'd like to know the full names of all the acronyms used in the listing.

I may be able to help with some of this.
CCD usually refers to the Canadian Convalescent Depot, where injured men were sent to recover.
Dis. is usually Discharged but perhaps here it means Disease.
Why not send for his full personnel file to see what they say? They will have his reason for being discharged and probably quite a bit more!
