Hi

I am trying to track down some information on George Oscar Goyette b. 25 Dec 1905 (Canada) and who died on 1 October 1980 (UK). he was in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps.

He was possibly married before he left for the UK - I am trying to find out if he actually was, who he was married to and if he had any children? We think he was involved with a lady called Ann/Anne.

I would also like to try and trace his mother's maiden name, believing her name to be Amanda and his father being Albert Goyette.

If anyone could help by giving information or suggestions of help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you

I found birth records for George Alvice (Alvila?) Goyette and Jane Goyette born 25 Dec 1905 in Massey, Algoma District, Ontario, Canada. Registration #s 012886 and 012887. Parents names are George Goyette, occupation shoemaker and Amanda Lefebre (Lefevre?). Jane was stillborn.

I also found a border crossing record for George Oscar Goyette arriving in Detroit, Michigan 18 Oct 1929, his wife is listed as Mayrand, but she was not travelling with him. His birth is listed as about 1905 and age as 23 years 10 months.

When looking for a marriage record I found George Oscar Goyette in the index but his name looks like George Avila Goyette in the actual record. He married Mayrand Veneronde in 1928 at Notre-Dame-de-Lorette in Hull, Quebec, Canada.

I think all 3 records are for the same man.

Hope this helps,
Bonsai.
Hi many thanks for this, it is much appreciated and gives me some interesting things to work with.
Kind regards
Richard, I do not know if there will be any links, I have a Marie Goyette b. abt 1860 (not sure where) who married John O'Connell in Hudson Falls, NY 9 Apr 1915. They lived in Nassau, Rensselear, NY. Marie was John's second wife. If you happen to find a link, let me know.
