I would like to hear some discussion on how to keep an older family (African American) cemetery from being destroyed. How do I try to preserve it.
Hello Dalia,

Please share more about the cemetery that you are trying to preserve. Note that the local folks are very important in the process to restore a burial site. Join us in discussion on some of our online chats as well. Daily chats (about many topics----including cemeteries) can be found on all topics.

The recent story from Sumter County Florida was successful because of actions from both the local historical society, the local community as well as voices being expressed from the national community as well.

Also take some of the discussion to the African Ancestored Group here in Genealogy Wise as well.
Join us there! We welcome your input and your concerns about your local cemetery.
