The Genealogy & Family History Social Network

Some good digital images to be found on the Ohio Memory site, plus visit the Indiana Historical society site, including little known images of Madame C.J. Walker's company.

A Genealogy-Wise Thread about documenting "family facts "started by Art Thomas of Ohio was referenced in this week's discussion about researching and following up those family facts with documentation.

Angela,

Enjoyed Podcast #20, great job as usual. Thanks for mentioning my name and our discussion in the AfriGeneas chat room on verifying oral histories when possible.

The Ohio Historical Society has another link for Ohio African American History that is also very nice, with good AA history not only on Ohio, but as Ohio AA history affected the country. The AA Experience in Ohio 1850-1920 http://dbs.ohiohistory.org/africanam/home.cfm documents, images, slave narratives, newspapers, photos, etc.

As you said, even if Ohio isn't your area of research there is some very interesting history to be found on the site.

Oh, for those in the Indiana area, the IAAGG is sponsoring a genealogy workshop on the 22nd of Aug. in Indianapolis, IN.
For details on the program, speakers & directions to the workshop visit the IAAGG website @ http://www.iaagg.org/

Thanks again, and I'll "see" you in chat.
