Schmelzer

I am a total stand still with research on my great-grandparents that came from Germany.  Gottlieb and Whilemina Schmelzer.  They came to Canada in 1893, sailing from the Port of Hamburg, arriving in Montreal.  From Montreal they ended up in Montana, then to Alberta.  I am trying to find information on who their parents were and if there were any siblings.  I would appreciate any suggestions on how I may possibly find this information.
