Military hospitals in and around Kingston, Ontario, Canada

I am not at all familiar with Canada in relationship to what military bases, hospitals etc that was available before and during WWI. I know my grandfather died in 1920 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada in 1921 from the affects of gases used by the Germans. Would love some guidance as to where I would most likely have success in finding records.
