Looking for information on James Family from Upper State New York - Gloversville

I am at a stand still in my research.  Need to find the parents of Dr. Thomas James Born 1787 in Connecticut.

He practised in Fulton County, New York between 1820's-1850's. I believe my family came from Wales. There

doesn't seem to be alot of connections in the North.  Anything information or direction will be greatly

appreciated. Thanks.
