My ggrandfather, James Bailey Looney, was captured at the end of the Civil War by the Union Army in one of the Carolina's and in keeping with the Looney clan's hard headedness and contrariness, refused to sign the Oath of Allegiance and was kept in prison a year after the war. If anyone can help me find where he was held I would be greatly appreciative.
