Backing up records

I am having a problem backing up information on Legacy 7 Deluxe with all the latest updates.

Everything I've added to my tree in the last twelve months has vanished. I used the back up from File and when I close the program. I also save to a flash drive and as I always over write the previous backup, when the data has vanished the new backup  lost it as well. I've had this problem before and have just re-entered the data, but I would rather fix it. Photos don't stay at all.
