Thanks, Jennifer. I already belong to Facebook, but this seems like a better opportunity to concentrate on genealogy. Thanks to Janet for getting it started!

  • Mick Henry

Hi Jennifer....I am really new to this.....but have been tracing my ancestors now for well over 30 years.....there were no census indexes, no IGI, and you had to deal with grim individuals that worked in the dark dungeons of Portugal Street, where the census microfilm was kept!

Ah.. and I was one of the Digital Stories on the first series of Who Do You Think You Are....called Family Puzzle.
  • Jane Miscavich

Hello Jennifer. My ancestor is Joseph Watson. He was born in 1820 in Ireland and came to the States probably around 1850. I'm not sure where he first lived but my great grandfather, James Watson, born in 1859 lived in Ohio. What does PLCGS stand for?

Thanks, Jennifer. Looking forward finding others that are researching the same family lines. Always delighted to find a "cousin" no matter how far removed.
  • Jane Miscavich

That's interesting. I wish we were from the same Watson family, but I doubt that we are.
  • Walter J. Freeman

  • Candy Hulbert Ditkowski

Hi Jennifer (thanks for the friend-add, by the way!). I don't have an Elizabeth Hulbert listed among all of my Hulberts. Do you know where she came from? Mine were in New York state about that time.

Hi Jennifer and thanks for the invite. This has been an interesting journey on GenWise so far since I joined the other day. It's interesting also that you received so many replies about your search for gen software. They are all very informative.
  • Gayle Jon Killey

    Jennifer,
Check out your local library or nearby ones. They are all different, but my local library has a large section of video, audio, computer games and programs. Just an Idea.
