I only wish I had paintings or drawings or something of the "further back" direct ancestors. So much is lost to the vagaries of time however. My sister and I just got back today from a "Pioneer Family Gathering" at a local Heritage site where one of the old Californio adobe's is preserved. We got to meet some cousins we never knew of, all of us related one way and another to the ancestor that built the adobe. Life always holds surprises, doesn't it?
