Hi Blair, yes some of the information matches my records didn't have William's parents, or Samuel's siblings. Thanks very much!

Hi Michael, a quick check on Ancestry found the following potential link:

Samuel O. Waight (mispelled Wright) (b. abt. 1868), married to Barbara J. Waight (b. abt. 1874) with children Boyd H (1893), Mary L. (1895), Charles A (1897), and Lula A. (1899) are in Miles, PA in 1900.

A Samuel Wait is also found in Miles PA in 1870, aged 2, with father William (b. abt. 1843) and mother Mary (1847) and brothers George (1866) and Thomas (1869).

Interestingly, in 1880, a Samuel Wait is found in nearby Red Bank, PA with a Daniel Wait (b. 1855).  I wonder if Samuel was staying at an uncle's to work.  Or perhaps his parents died young?

There was a Barbara Jane Wohlford born in Elton, PA on Mar 18, 1875 with George and Elizabeth Wohlford listed as parents.

A William Weight and Mary J. Weight live in Miles, PA in 1900 with Emma (b. about 1874) and Dollie (1887) with them.  Marriage year is stated as 1866.

This all seems to work with your details so I think its the right trail.

Somebody has posted without evidence that William Weight (b. 1841 in Warriors Mark, PA (nearby again)) married Mary J. in 1866, but died in 1876.  This would match the Samuel leaving home between 1870 and 1880.  This poster also noted that William lived in Miles in 1900, so clearly one of the facts is wrong.  FWIW, they've listed Sarah Williams as William's mother, no father listed.

If you go to this link, you will find a lot about the Wait's of PA, whose history is well documented back to the 1660s in Germany.  A lot of people from the Miles area.  However, there seems to be a William b. 1841 married to a Hannah, and one of the contributor's comments that there seem to be two in the area at the same time.

I think it will take some time to unravel the details, but it does look like your family, and most likely it connects into the historic German Weicht line.

I hope this helps,
