Greetings, cousin!

My grandmother was a Carr, so we are likely cousins on that line at some point.
I really appreciate all the effort you put into your research, and would be happy to be connected, if you'll allow it. My Carr line is as follows: my grandmother Naomi Carr > Arthur > Charles Lee > Reuben > Jehu John > Jacob > Henry Roebuck. My Carr related families are Carr, Fultz, Morris, and Borrer, and I would be happy to share any information I have on these lines.

I have seen your comments about the Carr family, and am wondering if I could pick your brain/records a bit. I have an old paper Carr family tree that goes back as far as Henry "Roebuck" Carr. I see on some sites that there is an issue in confirming the connection between this Roebuck and the Georg (Gerig) Heinrich Karr that came to the US on the Pennsylvania Messenger. Is this still an item of question or has this been resolved? Also, I am planning on traveling to Germany later this year, and my intended route goes directly past Schwaigern. I am not sure if any Carr researchers have yet been on the ground in this location, or if my itinerary will permit it, but is there any information you know of that could help to close some gaps in the tree that I might acquire with a stop in that town or another nearby?

Feel free to reply at your leisure to my Genealogy Wise page or by email at ngchristianson@gmail.com

Cheers, and happy searching!
Neil

Thank you, Pat. My great-grandfather, John Francis Noble Sr., was born in 1847 and first appears in the 1860 census as a teenager living in Meriden CT with a couple named Anthony and Mary Scollon, farm laborers. He is said to have stowed away aboard a ship that traveled around the Cape and finally landed in Oakland CA where he and a first cousin jumped ship and somehow made their way across country to Meriden CT. My grandfather, John Francis Noble Jr, was baptized at St Rose of Lima Church in Meriden in 1871 and the godparents are listed as Anthony and Mary Scollins. The baptismal certificate (and those of siblings) list the father's birthplace as Fermanagh, Ireland. Your guy is the only other Noble I know from that part of Ireland who was Catholic so, as you say, maybe they were cousins. Let's keep in touch.

Hi Pat -- here is my DNA results!
13 24 14 10 11 13 12 12 12 13 13 30 18 9 10 11 11 22 15 19 29 15 15 16 17

We seem to differ on 1 - I have 30 and you have 39! I will join your group on Ancestry DNA! Do you know by chance who Andrew's parents were? We know that my John's mother was Mary - maiden name Haley ( or some form of that!)

Hi Pat -- I replied on ancestry and am doing the same here - thanks for joining my group (Noble). I am not sure if we are related because I had no indication of matching within 1 or 2 markers with my FamilytreeDNA results! Perhaps we can exhange y_dna results if you want ! I had 25 markers done and I have 3 Nobles who match on 24 of 25!

John
