The version of the poem I have makes mention of Lt William's father being at the 1st Thanksgiving and it also mentions the discussion were quite heated then about his origins. Feel free to send whatever you feel would be helpful. I have free trial thing for ancestry I have been waiting to activate. Wanted to be to be glued to the monitor when I do activate.

One of the toughest things to find on my line anyway has been the burial locations. My third great grandfather, his wife and some of his children that died young were buried in a pasture on the homestead. At some point in the early 1900's (when an adult child died), and when they split the old farmstead in half to build a second house they moved all the people buried at home to a common grave in a nearby cemetery. I'm almost starting to think home burial was a tradition in my line. Is that something you have run into in your line as well? Thanks-your Palmer cousin Todd

Hey Shannon,

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to say I don't have anything on your line other than the basics as shown in PFiA. If you would like feel free to forward me any updates to your line. I can do the same for mine if you would like. I would like to update as many lines as I can. As far as Lt William's parents I haven't taken a position yet. Seems like every time I check around there is a new theory. Have you seen the poem "Dear Ancestor" by Walter Butler Palmer? There are some pretty interesting remarks in the footnotes. Let me know I can forward that as well. Happy hunting! Your distant Palmer cousin-Todd

Thanks for the reply. My initial check on your anscestor don't turn up anything but I haven't come close to working on every line. Let me know your direct line and I will check again.Have a lot of reference materials  and live in Iowa and can do lookups. My direct line is:

(Lt William, James, Samuel, Samuel, James, David, David, Henry, William, Albert, Mary Ellen)

I have come across a few interesting figures along the way from my line as well as others.

I am so early in my research that I have nothing to share yet.  My Palmers ended up in Pueblo, Colorado but were born in Indiana  I will keep you in mind for sure as I continue my research.  Thanks for the note!
