dates confuse me--jean jolly 1740=1794 married edmund kennedy in 1760 and had 14 kids.
hannah louise lusk 1777-1795 married edmund and had 1 child edmond jr
jane boggs married edmund and had 2 children.
i believe there was 2 hannah's one who married edmund sr and one that married jr.
edmund sr was born in 1910 donegal ireland and in1741 came to america. he married hannah louise lusk and they had a son in 1745.

Kathy,

Looks like it's been a while since there have been comments. Please contact me Tina Canerday at canerdaycs@gmail.com regarding Edmond Kennedy. I have some information I think you will find interesting. I am a descendant from Edmond's oldest daughter Nancy from his first wife. We are still trying to figure out who his wife was. His daughter Nancy got pregnant in 1798 or early 1799 and had my 4th great grandfather James Kennedy. Nancy went to Nashville in 1800 or so and filed a paternity suit against the father of her child Arden Billings. He paid for maintenance of James, but he had since married someone else. Nancy eventually married Curtis Clemmons in Nashville in 1806 and they migrated to Lauderdale County in north Alabama. So James kept the Kennedy name. By 1850 there were some other Kennedy's that had migrated to North Alabama that had come from Moore County NC. I am trying to determine if Nancy Clemmons knew these Kennedy's and if they had been related possibly from some of Edmond's other children or from Kennedy's from Edmond's 2nd marriage to Jane Boggs. These Kennedy's from NC were more educated than James and one of them was the census taker for Lauderdale County. He changed the spelling of James Kennedy's name to Canada to distinguish James Kennedy's family from their Kennedy name and over the years the spelling morphed into Canerday.

Would love to know which of Edmond's kids you came from !

Tina.

Hi Kathy, I saw that you were  trying to find info on Edmond/Edmund Kennedy b c 1743 d 1805 and his first (possible) wife, Hannah Lusk. Did you ever find anything further back on him, who his parents were, who his first wife actually was, or where his family came into america and from where? I desperately want answers to these questions.

What part of that line do you come through? I am from Edmond Jr. - Peyton Randolph - John Wilson - Robert Lee - Robert Garland. I am new to family history research but am very excited about getting to know my family. I would appreciate any information you can share with me.

Thanks, Joni

Hi Kathy - saw you briefly in chat today. Hope we didn't scare you away. I saw in your profile that you are related to Barksdales and that's why I asked if you had Civil War ancestors. There was a General William Barksdale at Gettysburg. Stephen Sears describes Gen Barksdale's action at the Peach Orchard as leading his men into battle at the front of the line, hat off, white hair flowing as he ran. Interesting. I have a part time job in Gettysburg.
