This is all the information I have. This is what is inscribed on his tombstone. I've been to the DAR library in Washington D.C. and have searched many muster rosters but have never for sure found this guy. He is buried in a small family cemetery directily adjacent to my 5th Great Grandfather John Gilliland (War of 1812, Don't believe him to be the father. And John, my grandfather was from N.C.. I think old John may be the grandfather. Fought in Rev War, moved from PA to NC. His grandson John marries Susanah Harris in N.C.and then the family migrates to Indiana. But that is speculation and not documented.
