My name is Bob Bradley and I reside in Abbotsford B.C. My maternal line follows:

My Waters/Watters ancestry fits quite well with those of September McCarthy and Jim Watters, sharing with them Joel WATERS [1776].

Instead of branching in at Nelson WATERS [1808], I am descended from his older brother Jacob Baker WATERS [1804] and his wife Clarissa May HARDING [1806]. Beyond Jacob, my family line is:

• Joel Charles WATERS [1831] and Phoebe DeWolfe LINGLEY [1835]

  • Allan Woodville WATTERS [1860] & Ida May Belle DOBSON [1865]

    • Carlos WATTERS [ 1890] & Lottie Melinda NEUERT [ 1898]

      • Verna Lottie WATTERS [1916] & Robert John BRADLEY [ 1911]

My 4th great-grandfather, Archibald Waters, was born in County Antrim, Ireland in 1782 and came to the USA (Pennsylvania to be specific) in 1816. He married Ruth Hathaway in 1817 and they had 9 children. I have information on Ruth and all their children, but have yet to find anything on Archibald's parents or siblings. I know this may be a lost cause because I have heard that for where/when he lived in Antrim most birth/marriage/etc records were not documented, but I figure it never hurts to ask. Any help would be appreciated.

I am a descendant of James and Annie Riggs Waters from England. Just recently started looking....they had 4 children, Florence, James, John and Evangeline (my grandmother) who went by her middle name, Manila. Annie was pregnant for my Grandmother when the family came over here, she was born in America. Any info would be great and I have some great photos!

Am researching James Waters (b  about 1835) in Ireland or in MA. (records vary, but most indicate Boston)  His father was John, mother unknown.  Married Hannah Griffin in 18599  in CA.  Would appreciate any information about this Waters family.

My great grandmother Margaret Ellen Waters born abt 1881 in Port talbot, Wales married Charles Wharton Rees b 1878 texas her parents were Patrick waters b abt1841 Dublin Ireland and Honoria McCarthy abt 1843 dublin Ireland. Their grandson Denis David Waters died in WW2. Happy to share any info I have on this line of Waters.

My John Waters and wife, Anne Murphy, were from Castlewarren, Kilkenny, Ireland. They emigrated to Canada about 1856 and then to Chicago about 1864.

So far I know my ancestor Joel Waters was only abt. 8 years old when he arrived in Canada in 1783. His father was one of three Waters brothers, Daniel, Abraham, or Abijah, all of whom were Parr grantees in Saint John, New Brunswick. I did locate this information which shows that Abraham was from Farmington, CT. . . .from a book, “American Loyalist Claims,” published 1980 by The National Genealogical Society. The listing gives its source as records in England at the Public Record Office (PRO) where AO13 are the original papers supporting each claim in AO12. Anyway here’s the listing on page 515. . . “WATERS, ABRAHAM, Farmington, Ct. [Connecticut] Fled to Army in N.Y. in 1780; has given service. Left N.Y. in transport Three Sisters, Capt. Huggeford, July 1783. Memorial 13 Mar 1786 St. John’s. Claim: House; land; cattle; fines paid. Rejected. (AO13 / 21 / 445-449).”

Any information about Waters from Farmington, CT would be appreciated.

Greetings and Welcome! My Waters ancestors were Loyalists who emigrated to New Brunswick in 1783, and 3 generations later returned to Boston, MA, remaining in Massachusetts through my grandmother, Marion Waters (Maskell) Cook. I would enjoy hearing from other Waters family researchers, and am happy to share the information I have.
