Hi all, I have also been a member of Genes Reunited since 2004, when it was just £5.00 to join both Genes Reunited & Friends reunited, with the original husband & wife team who started it. I have contact with many 'rellies' through the hot matches, and have recently helped a unknown at the time family member to trace his Hansell/Pope/ Newdigate family back to 1400's and we are now in contact..
Lovely story in as much his grandson (7 yrs old) is learning about Henry VIII at school and asked his grandad if he knew of any family who lived then, he didn't of course, but after contacting me and visiting my website on the POPES of SUSSEX, UK, he could tell his grandson, yes I can name ancestors who lived in Henry VIII time and also ancestors who lived in Edward IV time, his grandson is facinated, so a young boy now has a hobby alongside grandad.
