Descended from Manus Faherty (1805-1880) and Ellen Hughes (1819-1874) who emigrated from Co. Galway, IRL, to Ruma, Randolph Co., IL. Manus is the son of Thomas Faherty and Margaret Costello(e). There is probably a connection to the Edmond Faherty family of Ruma, IL, but so far none has been established.
