Hello,

I am very new (today) and still unfamiliar with the site so forgive my early ignorance! My comment is directed at George MacGillivray - I am a direct descendant of the Acadian Godin Family. While there is a plethora of information and even my tree is quite comprehensive, I am looking for photo's and stories to add to my Tree for my grandchildren etc.

While the Godin's originated in Quebec, we did move to NB and Maine after the expulsion. This is where the majority of my family continues to reside.

Would you know where I could get some stories and photo's?

With Gratitude,

Lynn (Goodine) Marois

Dear Reno:

I have quite a bit of information on Acadian families in New Brunswick. If you would like to contact me directly at:

georgema@nbnet.nb.ca

and give me some more details on Laurent Doucet & Ursule Martin as well as on Amable Doucet & Marie Landry and I will see if I can help/clarify for you.

George

Hi Lucie,
I'm looking for info concerning Laurent Doucet & Ursule Martin. I've just been informed that they no longer belong in my line of ancestors, and have been replaced by Amabel Doucet & Marie Landry ????? I am having a lot of trouble finding anything on these two !!!!! I am not as up to date in my geography as I should be, but this new couple seem to come from a very different part of Acadia. This new discovery also changes everything. Even though I've got most of my ancestry to Germain Doucet documented, I'm begining to doubt if any of my documentation is real, and also if my grand parents and parents are really the people I grew up with ??? This is really frustrating....could you possibly shed any light on this "new" discovery.....Thank you...Reno Rossignol

Hi Lucie,

Glad to see you have started this group. You might want to consider adding a link to your direct link Web Site as well as that to your Blog, given all of the great historical information you there.

Regards, Marc

Hi, just started with some Leblanc families pertaining to Jean Gaudet's family. My mother was a Doucette descending from Germain Doucet, I think. There's some confusion in the 1600's, and I don't have it all sorted out in my head yet. My father is a Rossignol descending from Julien Rossignol. I wish I had strted this 40 years ago, it would of been so much easier, being able to talk to everyone.... Have a good day all
