Hi,
I'm researching my paternal grandmother's family--Kravinsky (she was Riva). Came to the US from Odessa via Liverpool. One of 14 children, seven survived to adulthood, and three sisters also came to the States--Fannie, Bella, and Brucha. Sound familiar to anyone?
Thanks!

Hi,

I am researching my grandmother's branch of the family, Schwartz. My great grandparents Joseph and Mary Schwartz (nee Milgram) came to the UK from Berdichev in the Ukraine along with two daughters, Betsy (also known as Bessie) born 1885 and Leah, born 1887 sometime between 1887 and 1890. I know it was between those dates as their third child Solomon (known as Charles) was born in 1890 in London. They went on to have 3 more children Louis in 1892, Moses (known as Moisha) in 1894 and Jane (known as Janie) in 1896. Jane was my grandmother.

I cant seem to find passenger ship record from when they came to the UK and wondered if anyone could advise me on how to find them. I have looked on Ancestry.co.uk but cannot find anything.

Thanks.

Lyn

I am researching the Braunstein family .My grandfather Morris Braunstein came to Ellis Island in 1905 at age 15 yrs. from Krishnev ,Russia (which also was part of Roumania in the Moldolva Region.) He went to live with a brother in Philadelphia,PA on Carpenter St. which was in the Jewish Section of immigrants in Philadelphia. That is all I know at this point. From the Ellis Island register I cannot figure out what his brothers name is and it is only one letter and looks like a J or an L. Iknow that he also brought other family members over and that they owned a business concerning automobiles. Morris died in 1929 at the age of 39 yrs. He was married to Margaret Rose Judge my paternal grandmother. Two sons-David (Isadore) and Robert A.-family changed last name to Brown when my father was born in 1924.
