Information About Posting

To help organize things I've made discussion threads for all the regions of Italy. If you know where the people you are researching lived, please post your queries, information, etc. in the appropriate thread. If you don't know where in Italy the people you are researching lived or if they lived in multiple areas, go ahead and post to the Comment Wall below. Also, if you feel your post is urgent or you want it to be viewed by the whole group, post to the Comment Wall.

Please don't spam the Comment Wall or Discussion Forum. If you have multiple posts you would like to share, try and combine them. Also, if you would like to post something in Italian, please add an English translation as not all of us know Italian. Thanks!

I'm new to GW - researching CILLIS and SPAGNUOLA from Pietragalla, Potenza, Basilicata. I have quite a bit of information on CILLIS, but not much on SPAGNUOLA (different spellings on this name). This is just an intro as I wanted to join this group and explore (I'm taking the Social Media course from NIGS). I don't have a specific question at this time.

Thank You Michael for the information. I do have most all of that. I would like to go back further. Finding Lorenzo's father and mother. But his name was changed when he came over here. At least that is what I was told. I do not know what it was before.

Sandra, have you tried looking under Bryan Lorenzo?  Maybe someone wrote his name down in reverse order or someone thought it was reverse order.  Bryan sounds like a first name to many so it's worth looking into him under that name as well.

Robin, welcome to our site. I haven't been on for a while. I am looking for Lorenzo Bryan. He is my great grandfather and he came over from Italy. His nalast name was changed to Bryan. Therefore that is my brick wall. I don't know what his last name was.

Clemente Suardi  I don't know if you can help me. I have been stopped at my greatgrandfather in my family tree. He came over to the states and his name was changed to Lorenzo Bryan when he got here. Bryan don't sound Italian. I don't know why that was done or what his name was at that time.
