My father was the son of Mary Estelle Stout and Alton Eugene Bracken and was born in Russellville Oklahoma in 1920. I would love to find out more about Mary Estelle and her mother Martha Stout ( maiden name Martha Taylor) and her Taylor side also!

Danny, My great great grandparents are also W H Valentine Wahlquist and Annie Jane Melton. I just came across this site in my research. I was trying to google what Hubert and Bertha died from and found this site with all you added about our family. My grandmother was Lee Imogene Alberta Cole she went by Alberta and was born in 1918, just a few years after your father was born. So they probably grew up like cousins since your dads mom was Alberta's grandmother.

Hi! I am working on the Hunter family from Jackson County. My great great granfather Richard V. Hunter married a Melvina C-possibly Copeland. I am in need of a marriage record for these two to get her maiden name for my genealogy. Any help will be appreciated!

I am working with the names of Taylor, Stout, McAllister.  Taylors and McAllisters were from the Pendelton district of South Carolina. All three of them families came to ARkansas after the civil war and later moved to Oklahoma. The full names were Anna McAllister Taylor she was widowed from Toliver Taylor in the civil war and  her daughter Martha Ellen Taylor married James Stout after the war. I cannot find where Anna was buried in Arkansas. Thank you

Hello. My family on my mom's side are from Arkansas. My mom's name is Sharon code, my grandmas name is louise burdette but she is a burdette because she remarried after her husband from Arkansas and misourri named Ezekiel bud boyd died before I was born. So she was Maggie boyd. Ezekiel is my grandfather. My grandma's mom was named Mae potter she was also a Jackson. As far as I know my great great grandmother was a full blooded Cherokee Indian. Her last name was lumpkin I think. Ezekiel bud boyd's parents were R. Ezekiel boyd and Maggie lumpkin. If anyone has any more info on my family please let me know. Thank you! Julie.code@gmail.com

Hunter Family TroublesI

I am trying to determine what happened to RICHARD TAYLOR HUNTER, b. 31 Aug. 1860, Daviess Co., IN, the son of Aaron A. Hunter and Sarah Ann Lawrence.

By all information I have been able to find, Richard was a model citizen, a coal miner, who eventually moved to Arkansas. Richard may have been married in Indiana, but I can find no marriage record for him there.

Richard DID marry, apparently for the second time, to a FLORA [last name unknown] about 1910, but again I have great difficulty in finding a marriage for them. Flora was more than 10 years older than Richard--he 39 and she 52--when they married.

By 1920, Richard was living in Paris, Short Mountain Township, Logan Co., Arkansas, as a widower. Flora--whose name was actually Florida--had died 18 May 1917 in Logan Co. He was residing with a family named Janett, who may or may not have been relatives. Richard was the City Marshall of Paris, Ark., at that time.

My question: How did he end up in the State Convict Farm in Dudley Lake, Jefferson Co., Ark., in 1930? Did he kill someone--and not in the line of duty as city marshall?

I'd appreciate any help anyone could give me on Richard T. Hunter

Thanks.
