Hi Al, No connections are known by me, but since the descendants of Jacob Hochstetler are estimated to total over one million in the U.S., the odds are pretty good the Easterday family has married into the Hochstetler family at some point. The Hochstetlers came from Switzerland in 1738. They are Swiss, not German, so there is no known connection to the Stuttgart area of Germany.

May I ask:  any intersection with EASTERDAY (Ostertag) families?  Many of those families lived near Stuttgart.  There are supposedly 12 migrations: mine in 1828

I do belong to the FB group for JHFA, thanks.  I am taking a couple of classes here at NIGS and one of my course suggestions was to join a group.  I found this one while searching.

Hi Sara, Yes, not much activity. Social media has basically made these specialty sites redundant. Although it doesn't have ton of activity, the Facebook page for the Hochstetler Family Association (JHFA) is somewhat active.

Hi, Mark.  I see this group hasn't had activity for about a decade!  My mom is a Hostetler and I am one of many descendants of Jacob Hochstetler.

Hi, just wanted to let you know that I have several genealogies that I would be willing to do look-ups in. Jacob Hochstedler, Barbara Hochstedler, Hertzler-Hartzler, The Brennemans, John J. Darr, Christian Gnaegi/Gnagey, Peachey-Beachey. Also have the 3 volume set of German Pioneers - ships lists to Philadelphia for 1727 to 1805. I hope this might be helpful. Tom K.
