Correction; Lucindas mother was Mary Jane Skiles daughter of Martha Ann (Brown) Skiles. Mary Jane and my great grandmother Martha Ann (Skiles) Shipp were sisters.
Lucinda's mother was Martha Ann Brown a full blood Cherokee according to my grandmother Iva (Shipp) Nelson. There is some controversy that Martha Anns last name was Maples. My grandmother always said it was brown. Martha Ann (Skiles) Shipp was my Grandma Iva mother. Martha Ann Skiles and Lucinda were sisters. I live at Licking, Missouri near where my grandmother grew up.
