Happy New Year.  I am doing research on my great grandmother's family.  She was born to Andrew Mitchell and Sophia Fairbanks of HALIFAX NOVA SCOTIA in 1859.  Andrew Mitchell is described as a Merchant who died in 1871.  I don't have a lot of other information on Andrew other than his parents are listed as George and Ann on the death registration book.

My GG Grandmother Janet Lawson Mitchell was born in Lanark County Ontario in 1857.  Her father James Mitchell was born in Lanark County in 1829.  His father John Mitchell was born in Scotland about 1786 and arrived in Canada sometime before 1823.  I believe he was one of the Lanark Society Settlers.  I would love to learn about the family pre-Canada.

I've just discovered that my Willaim Mitchell born c1777-1789 was the son of Cornelius Mitchell. There is a marriage in Bristol 3/12/1786 of a Cornelius Mitchell and Mary Carn which could possibly be his parents. Cornelius and William were both Brightsmiths. Does anyone else have any Mitchells from Bristol?

I'm trying to trace the origins of William Mitchell c1777 Bristol. He married a Mary (possibly Mary Hyde 1810 Bristol). His children were Louisa, Matilda (married Frederick Wood) Cornelius (died aged 2), William (possibly married Ellen) and Amelia all born Bristol and then Henry (possibly married Louisa) who was born 1825 Limehouse. William died in 1876 Poplar aged 99.

Does anyone have a connection to this Mitchell family?

Hi I'm reseaching the Mitchell line from Robert James Mitchell born 1809 Penzance Cornwall to Daniel Mitchell and Ann Phillips who married Mary Rowe in 1836 in Madron Parish, Cornwall, and then literally when they were on the ship to Australia, Robert died at the port of Plymouth and is buried there. His descendants, 6 of them survived the trip and it's them I'm interested in. Kind Regards, Jo.
