I have John Fleming born in Ireland and found in Mornington Perth Co, Canada 1851 with his children one of who is Elizabeth age 13.  She married John Battersby and died 1907.

Does this ring any bells?  Thanks!

Hello, Fleming researchers.

My first Fleming Ancestor is Levi Fleming (b.1799) in NJ.

This line can be reliably followed back - Levi(b.1799) < William (b.1765) < Thomas (b.1745) all born in New Jersey except Thomas who was born in Ireland.

Thomas was born to Malcolm Fleming from Cookstown, Ire.

This is where it gets uncertain.  I have found numerous 'genealogies' that continue the line into Scotland and beyond, but there are conflicts and uncertainties as can be expected.

I am looking to make some solid conclusions on this line.

Does anyone have data they wish to compare?

Hi Helen, is it okay that I joined the group even though our Flemings don't match?
Have you found where your Flemings were from in Ireland? I know that is the hard part of Irish research.

Hi, My Fleming family were living in Penninghame, Wigtownshire, Scotland in the early 1800s. They migrated to Australia in 1848 and have multiplied a lot! Any descendants of Andrew Fleming and Helen or Ellen Findlay please feel free to contact me.
