My Bish is of German (Besche) Heritage, the English version is Bish or Bysche...Thank You

There was a line of Snows in Devon in 19th century and previously which might be linked to the Dorset Snows.

Mr Bish - your surname also occurred in Sussex in 18th Century - some of my Brookers were intermarried with Bish in East Sussex.

My Immigrant grandfather was Richard Snow 1608-1677 England to Massachusetts.

I am still trying to find the place my great grandfather Henry Snow came from , he was born about 1796 possibly in England in 1839 he was in Halifax N.S. I had my DNA test done and also joined the Snow DNA test group. To date have found no close matches. Anyone have access to English emigration records 1810 to 1840?

In case anyone has found links to Snow from Sixpenny Handley Dorset UK, I have found two interesting people from this family. The first is Seward Snow who was head gardener at Wrest Park, now in the care of English Heritage. He developed the Hamburgh Muscat grape, a variety of broccoli, Snow's early sprouting white broccoli and a variety of lettuce. I have a copy of an obituary published in one of the Victorian horticultural publications. He was succeeded  by his sister's son, George Ford.

 

The second person was another nephew of Seward, Herbert Lumley Snow who was an pioneer of certain types of cancer surgery and is listed on the website of the Royal Marsden Foundation Trust as a notable person connected to that famous hospital. Herbert Lumley was the son of James  Lewis Snow who was born in Sixpenny Handley Dorset.

 

Seward and James Lewis were two brothers of my great great grandfather William Snow
