Is there someone who can read Danish and would look up a record for me on the Danish archives web site? https://www.sa.dk/brug-arkivet/arkivalieronline
I tried myself and got lost, as the web site is all in Danish.  I'm looking for the birth record of Dorthea Matai Jensen, born 21 April 1892 (or 21 April 1882) in Lonstrop. Her father was Jeors Jensen and her mother was Christin or Christina. I'd also be interested in the family's emigration record, although I don't know when they emigrated. Dorthea married in Utah on 31 January 1905, so they would have emigrated from Denmark before then.

The name Thiesen sounds believable but more information might make it possible to find your person. Do you have info on children of Thiesen?  Research to find more data in the next generation might give you more to go on in the previous generation.  Then records like naturalization papers could give you more personal information about Thiesen and a link to the old country. Have you found him in the US census?

Also, what years are we talking about?

Schleswig-Holstein is a large area that has gone back and forth between Denmark and Germany. It set at the bottom of the Denmark mainland. Info to a lower level, a parish, would be really helpful.
