Thanks for the feedback Bob. I'm still trying to navigate around the site and get my bearings. There seems to be a lot going on. Is the chat room the "main room" that seems to be going a million times a minute?
I am researching the HENRY HARRIS family (1st wife Izzie INGS; 2nd wife Rosa) who lived in Darlington Co, SC and Lee County, SC. Henry Harris was born 1865 South Carolina (probably Darlington Co, SC.)
Bob, after looking over your geneology list, I wanted to let you know that i live in Northeastern North Carolina, and am familiar with many Bryants in this area. I worked with a Bennett Bryant at panda energy here in Roanoke Rapids for four years. He is from milwalkee, NC. and most of the Bryant clan or family live in Northhampton County. If you like to know more just inbox me. Lots of Bryants, Turners, Grizzards, Dunlows in this area.
As far as I can see I have no Markham connections in the USA - all my relatives came from Lincolnshire in the UK. You may have luck with your Virginia Markham/marcum here: http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/marcum/pats
Well, I know that that is far sooner than when my Brennans came to USA and settled in Pittsburgh. Do you know the origins of yours in Ireland? Patrick is a family name and so is Thomas, my father being named Thomas Robert Brennan. But my Brennans came to PGH about 1882, after their mother had died in the homeland. They brought their father, John, with them, who brought their 2 youngest sisters. Other siblings also settled in PGH but I'm not sure of their arrival dates.
Sorry if I am not much help.
I do know exactly where they were from in County Mayo if it interests you.
Yes, I am from Pittsburgh. My Brennans are from County Mayo. Greatgrandfather John Brennan, grandfather, James P. Brennan, one of 11 children. Let me know what your interests are in the Brennans.
