The 1782 census is the Virginia Compiled and Substitute census for 1607-1890.It is only an index.

The 1800 census shows 3 males under 10, 1 male 26-44; 1 females under 10, 1 female 26-44,

The 1810 census shows 3 males under 10,2  males 10-15, 3 males 16-25, 1 male over 45; 1 females under 10, 1 female 10-15,1 female 26-44,

1830 census shows 2 males 15-19, 1 male 60-69; 1 female 40-49.

Marriage record for Va 1700-1850 shows proof for Thomas and Rebecca.

Hope this helps.

This is my guy. Yea! What kind do census records do you have for that early period? How do you know his DOD. What do you have that proves his marriages? Thanks so much!

I have Thomas Kirby born in Southampton Co, Va. DOD 1845, unknown place. He is on the 1782, Fairfax County, Va census, page 17. In 1800, he is on Johnston County, NC census, page 753. In 1810, he is on Halifax County, NC census, page 109. In 1830, he is again on Halifax County, NC census, page 312. DOM 1/25/1787, Greensville, Va to Rebecca Bass. If you would like census details, I can give that too. Children: Benjamin, Mary, Priscilla, Robert C, Thomas Mclin, and Isaac H.Ben and Mary born in Va and all others in NC.

Georgia, If its not a lot of trouble would you share that with me. The state line is so close, I wonder if there was some crossover. It's been such a brick wall for me, and I would appreciate some fresh input.

Diane Clemmons, my Thomas Kirby was from Southampton County, Va. Not the same person. Died after 1845.

Diane, I have quite a bit of info on Thomas Kirby. When my company leaves, I will look through it and get back to you.

I am researching Thomas Kirby (1742-1803) a revolutionary soldier in VA, Fairfax County. His wife is Mary and son is Thomas. There are quite a few Kirbys in the area, Dinwiddie County, York County to name a few.
