Mary: I have managed to dig up some Kinch info and, while it may NOT be exactly what you're looking for, it does help fill in the picture.

Hi Mary.  If you have been invited to join a chapter of the National Society Colonial Dames of the XVII Century, the difficult part is over.  All that remains is to prove your lineage.  If you are already a member of DAR or another lineage society, much of your work is already done.  The requirements for documentation are basically the same, although it may be necessary to go back another generation or two.  I'll be happy to do whatever I can to help..  Please feel free to contact me directly at nddaughter@aol.com

Mary, I can't get back any further back than William Mayhew, b. 1760 (who was in the Revolutionary War). Evidently his father's name was Nathaniel Mayo of Scituate, Ma. I don't know how the name evolved from Mayo.

Mary, about 15 years ago I put my genealogy history (what I knew of it) on Ancestry.com. That was before I started driving tractor-trailer. Back then I had alot more time to do research. Have you ever read Charles Banks "History of Martha's Vineyard"? He did extensive research of the families of Martha's Vineyard. There is also a history of Buckfield where my family lived a couple of hundred years ago.Another research book is "Old Foxcroft" by Mary Chandler Lowell, MD., J.M. I have a copy of this book.

Mary, are you related to any Mayhew's from Martha's Vineyard, Ma?

Mary, was it Barbara HUDSON you're looking for an obit on? Sorry I missed it in chat and looked back and it was gone.

Mary, I am related to a William Mayhew who moved to Buckfield sometime before 1792 from Scituate, Ma. His son William Jr. left there and moved to Cambridge, Me. before 1830, as he left (Cambridge, the town I live in) to move to Foxcroft, Me. in 1830. If you want more info let me know.
