I have an ancestor called Thurman Ross. He was born in Shelbyville, Shelby County, Kentucky in 1799. Does anyone have any relations to Thurman Ross?

Hi all! I am a "Geneablogger" and I have started writing about different people's ancestors for Treasure Chest Thursday. First week I wrote about my ancestor Jesse Vawter, from Madison, Indiana. Today I featured Abraham Wrightsman, an Underground Railroad conductor from near Kokomo. I am looking for more ancestors to spotlight. You can check out my blog at www.goinoverhome.blogspot.com or email me directly about your ancestor: KathrynAndrewsPotter@gmail.com

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Thanks for asking John.  I have the same question for Frazier/Frazer/Fraysher/etc.  If anyone with this last name has tested or is interested in testing, please feel free to contact me -- Paul Frazier Gerhart at  paul.gerhart@case.edu

Our line came from Moccasin Creek, southwest VA about 1800 led by Solomon (b1773), George, Jonathan, Squire, and perhaps other Fraziers from Russell County (what is now Scott County), VA into what was then Floyd (now Letcher and Breathitt) County, KY.

Are there any Acker, Aker, Akers, or Hale's in the KY group, or does anyone know of any of these surnames that have done a Y-DNA test, so I can compare my Y-DNA results?

Denise - try this website:  http://diocesanarchivists.org/?page_id=20

it is for the association of Diosean Archivists.  I have given you the contact page.  They should be able to help you find the right archive.

Carma-Lu Do you know how I would get in touch with them? I couldn't find anything in my online search of the Diocese that told me where the Archives were. Thanks.

Denise Damm - have you tried the Diocese Archivist society?  They could probably tell you which archive the records would be held at.
