The 1870 census lists him as a farmer, 56 years old, Cynthia is 50 years old, and he indicates that he was born in NC. In this census they are living in Milton Co., GA By the 1900 census, John was dead, but Cynthia was living with their son, John Thomas Lowe, who indicates that his father was born in NC. By that time Milton Co. was part of today's Gwinnett Co.

the family came out of ... to... in the lifetime of John Lowe is pretty vague, please provide specific informaition about John Lowe, his movements, and when and where he was born, died and married.

He came to Gwinnett Co, GA and married Cynthia Rogers of the Cherrokee Nation. But we can't trace him to his NC roots. Any hints would be appreciated. Thanks

I had my husband do an y-dna test & matches came back with Louw, Lowe, Low, Courtright. We believe that his relative, Stephen Ryerson b. approx 1762 was really a Lowe. My husband has matches with John Lowe, Jack Lowe, Paul Lowe all going back to Sebastian de Cortes b. approx 1550 but I have been unable to make the connections yet. No matches to any Ryerson/Riersons.
