Hello again,
Thanks for responding, and yes, I could use some help with the Regans. My ancestor Joseph Regan was married on Sherkin Island to Sarah Goslin( on the books as "Sally Joslin" in1846). I can find info on the Goslins and I know Sarah's birth was 22 May 1822 on Sherkin Island, but there is no record for Joseph. Joseph's parents were James Regan and Margaret. I found this info from marriage records in Boston . Joseph was married 3 times.
That doesn't mean that he couldn't be from Sherkin, but there are 36 James Regans on the Griffith's Valuation listings. I am still trying to trace all possibilities.Joseph's bapt. records don't come up on any Cork & Ross data neither. So, I'm going by town by town-- the hard way!!! I have notebooks of information, and I'm trying to put the puzzle pieces together. I could use your help and advice. Yes, there are Regans from the 2 places which you mentioned, infact Ginny Swanton had a Regan in her lineage from Dunmanway area, who migrated to Boston.
Drop me a line when you can.

Hi Murfy,

Glad to meet you. I too am researching Regans in the West Cork area. Maybe you could help me. My ancestor Joseph Regan married Sarah Goslin from Sherkin Island in 1846. The Goslin/Gosnells are from Sherkin Island, but trying to locate where in West Cork  the townland for the Regans. They emmigrated to Boston after the Famine in 1851. Yes, I am from Boston, now living in Spain. Let's chat , and find out things on the Regans.  Thank you, Dianne Reagan
