Hi all, as some of the posts are fairly old I was wondering if any one has a brickwall in the UK that I could have a look at for them? No promises but will try, have noticed when contacting people about old posts that sometimes the brickwall has been resolved but not updated on here.

kind regards

Sharon

I need some help with info on where my line was from.  The first THOMPSON (THOMASSON) was in Graneville NC.  His name was John abt 1757  listed as spelling Thommasson, married to Christina Redwine abt 1781.   Found records showing John had signed up to serve during revolution war in Penn, continental Captin Weaver 10th reg.  I do not know where John was born but do note that the spelling of the last name changed to THOMPSON with his children.   Can't find any info prior to John and how he ended up in NC.  Any idea's?? Thanks in advance for any tips and help.  Connie

I have recently solved a long-time brick wall in my family tree. I broke it using clues from conversations, theories, some interesting search techniques, and sealed the deal with DNA testing.

Hopefully my approach to it can give others some ideas to try.

I've written a narrative of it at http:/randymajors.com

Hi Connie-

I found a James T. Hilley in Oklahoma married to an Anna in 1930, the right age, born in Georgia, nothing indicating positively that this is your James, but I found their children living with other siblings, and one, Henry who was also a patient.

For Connie Underwood:

I found this death cert. for their daughter who died as an infant. Maybe they were buried in the same cemetery.
