Several names and places I've never heard of and I do not know what to say? I don't know where Peregrine "Perry" Snowden Warfield was born before Georgetown, D.C. He went to Georgetown College, my aunt his his poetry practice book--hope he was better a legal briefs than he was with his poetry. She has his, think it's called a flute? I strongly suspect he was a Freemason? I've never done the Biloxi census, but it should have good data.

The 1850 Census shows Perry as being born in Kentucky and looking at the original image, you see he is a lawyer in N.O.,La.

In the 1860 Census, we find Martha living with her mother along with these two children.

Those are her only two children mentioned in her Biloxi obit. Perry of Georgetown, D.C., was kin of base born Bessie Warfield who wed King Edward VIII. Martha's siblings were:
Robert Porter Nixon, b/d 1816 New Orleans
John Washington Nixon, 1822/1888, wed Sally Kate Maddox
James Roscoa Nixon, b1826 wed Margaret Blaney
Richard Augustus Nixon, 1828/1865, wed Adeline Hamilton
Henry Kirk Nixon, 1830/1908, wed Mary O'Rourke
Wm. Robinson Nixon, Sr., b1832
Catharina Grant Nixon, 1835/1863
Rowina Louisa Medora "Miss Pinky" Nixon, 1839/1917

Adj. Lt. John (W?) Nixon, DeJean's 1st Louisiana Militia, fought on the far west bank in the 1815 Battle of New Orleans until over-run by the British, when he spiked his two cannon and retreated. In 1811 he helped found a New Orleans Masonic Lodge. He owned 15,000 areas of swamp timberland around New Orleans (after Civil War, Yankees paid for harvested timber). He owed the Nixon House Hotel, Biloxi where he was entombed June 4th or 7th, 1849. Katrina destroyed the headstone. Wish Alabama or New Orleans War of 1812 society would get U.S. government replacement. I got U.S. War of 1812 stone, Magnolia Cemetery, Mobile, for 3rd U.S. Infantry, Col. Gilbert Christian Russell, Sr., ancestor). Nixon, Copp, and James streets, Biloxi, named for the family. He was born Macguires's Bridge, Co. Fermanagh, April 23, 1787, and arrived New Orleans 1803 or 1805.

In 1904 Summit, Miss., looking for Mrs. Lee; and Mrs. Edwin W. Hosmer of St. Joseph, La., daughters of Mrs. Martha Bell Nixon Warfield who died Biloxi 1904, the widow of New Orleans asst. city attorney Perriguine 'Perry' Snowden Warfield, Martha was the daughter of New Orleans city attorney Lt. John Nixon and Adeline Cecelia Copp. I descend Martha's sister, Mrs. Jane Ann Nixon James who's son, Capt Harry Copp James, born New Orleans, was Biloxi  Harbormaster.
