First stop for finding a location in Ireland:  Google.  There are lots of other resources, but in this case  the search turns up a Library Ireland entry for Ballymadun or  Ballymodum.  Co Dublin.  There will be Civil Registration records from GRO and maybe parish records. Check Irish Family History Foundation.  I would also suggest doing a Google search for "Charles Henry Breadmore" with the quotes.

Hello Everyone

I am new to this list therefore this is my 1st post and hope someone can help me wirh the following:

According to the military records of my Great Grandfather Charles Henry Breadmore it states the following

he was in the Army of England

he was born Birmingham England 1862

he married Ann Murphy January 10, 1884 in Ballymodun (nothing else as to where Ballymodun is) I do know Ann of Annie as other records indicate was born in Ireland Abt. 1863.

My questions are 

Where is Ballymodun? Is it possible to get marriage records from there? If anyone has any other info about Annie and Charles' marriage or info a regarding Annie's parents or siblings it would be very much apprieciated.

I plan to add more documents at a later date, but need to get it going.

I have Doyles out of Cladybeg, County Armagh, and Campbells out of places  yet unknown (they went back to Scotland in the early 1800s, but I don't know whence they came).

my gggrandfather was john c kennedy born in indiana and his wife was caroline yenne kennedy she was born in west virgina....i would like to know how to go about finding out who johns father was i only know he was born in ireland...thank you so much

My Great Grandfather John Hughes from Bandon, County Cork, Ireland, that;s where my Grandmother was born she had several brothers and sisters she moved to Dublin where she married a widower from Kildare.I know at least one Brother Patrick Hughes went to Austraila, another went to America,

The DNA studies are wonderful!  I am enrolled in the CROW/CROWE DNA study and learned that my family had settled in the Spartanburg, SC, area during the late 1700's.

 

Another DNA study which a cousin has joined proved that I have a Scottish nobleman, Alexander Irvine, 10th Laird of Drum, in my tree and from Alexander, I can find links to Scottish and English nobility including several persons of royal blood, including David The Bruce of Scotland.

 

I'd recommend DNA for anyone seriously interested in their family lines...

Susan, I did purchase the DNA test for my brother. We are expecting the results the first week of May. Hopefully it will tell us something!
