Have you found any connection (relationships, business, etc) between your Footes and any Norwoods ca 1830-1845? My Footes were held enslaved by Williamson Norwood at the time of his death in 1847. Wade Foote (b. ca 1833), the 3rd son of my ancestor, was listed as having been born in Chester Co, SC on the death certificate of one of his children. Since my family chose the Foote surname, not Norwood, I'm trying to figure out why. Perhaps Norwood purchased them from Footes in Chester Co. Thanks!
